Districts of Nilgiris

The Nilgiris District comprises of Ooty, Coonoor and Kotagiri all cradled within the majestic mountain ranges of the Western Ghats known amongst the oldest mountain range in India. Coonoor District

Coonoor is a small quiet hill station nestled 19 kms away from Ooty within the Nilgiri hills of the South Western Ghats in India. It is known as the second most popular hill station in the Nilgiris after Ooty and is a haven for peace lovers offering the best alternative for people who prefer an exotic true beauty and solitude of nature rather than the enthusiasm of a city life. Though this small quaint hill station has been swallowed by the growing urbanization, structured economy and an uncontrollable influx of tourists in the past few decades, it has still managed to retain its scenic image to a manageable extent.

Kotagiri District

Kotagiri is amongst one of the scenic Hills Station within the cradle of the Nilgiris Hills elevated at a height of 1,793 meters above mean sea level and situated just 33 kms away from south-east of Ooty. This panoramic hill station is known for its excellent weather and named as the hill station with the second best climatic conditions in the world. It is flanked by lush green tea gardens that produces the finest Nilgiri tea and is famous for the Nilgiri Thailam or Nilgiri Eucalyptus oil. Kotagiri also offers a number of memorable trekking options for novice as well as professional hikers.
